Vijay the host is truly cool
written by Rai Sackree, February 03, 2009
2.5 hrs pleasant drive (the road is rated as the most luxury shuttle path bangalore to mangalore) quick to reach and ample leisure, friendly villages and so much to experience from the island stay to treks to the nearby village... morning walks or waiting for the ritual sunset.. ummm. Vijay the host is truly cool and his adorable three dogs make you feel at home and at the end of the day you would want to take the dogs home :-) The tree house is the place anyone would feel like spending a lifetime

RAPPA Get your butt movin
written by Stanley, July 04, 2009
A place close to mother nature... no luxuries of life is required... just an old guitar and booze this place ROCKS.. for those who love luxuries are not welcome... The spirit of good old camping days has come alive thanks to Vijay .

Living in a citi that makes us live an artificial life style and the necessity of comfort had made all individuals a sis pot... I would request all to get back to good old ways of living like the way your grand parents lived.... if fun and healthy.

Vijay my friend hope you set up more camps like this.....

written by Pallavi prabhu, August 25, 2009
Well some of my friends had visited Rappa and shared some rare reviews..I thought they were exaggerating until i visited the place... The moment i reached the place i fell in in love with it and the four little angels there Mylo, Shadow brown and Shunti.. Kayaking in the moonlight there was an experience of a life time and a must do for all...

We actually gate crashed into Vijay's paradise(LOL) but he was more than welcoming and made some yummy food for us.There is so much more for you to explore...

Thanks Vijay for having us at Rappa, the unwind island..Will be back soon!!!!

A memorable weekend!
written by Alysha Fernandes, October 10, 2009
Dated 25th Sept morning, we left for a place near Hassan.. without ever visiting this site or even remotely knowing of its existence. And all I can say is I AM IN LOVE WITH IT!! Wow Vijay! Rappa is the place man!
We actually gatecrashed the place but what do u know.. we were not asked to walk... Vijay guaranteed a place for us even with Rappa being fully booked at the time.
There is nothing more to say thats not already said yet.. But this is surely one spot that I plan to visit again... Man! Its all I've ever spoken about ever since we're back! Great job Vijay! Its a beautiful home you've got there and an absolute pleasure for all of us that you decided to share! smilies/cheesy.gif
I would also like to add that in addition to all those lovely lovely dogs (my fav being milo)Vijay even has a handsome horse, Jack.
This is a place to be guys! Thanks Vijay for the splendid stay! We'll be back!

The Amazing Rappa
written by Aadi, June 04, 2010
First of all I would like to thank Vijay & Sibi very much for being very good hosts. It was a fantastic experience being there and spending time at The Rappa. We so much enjoyed our stay there that it was quite difficult for us to leave. You really took good care of us during our stay and never once made us feel ignored.

Rappa is a so close yet so far place with a perfect driving time. The scrumptious food, the silence, the nature, the walk to the social forest, ofcourse the 4 friendly mans best friends, the silent gossips by the water, kayaking, getting drenched in the rain, the view of the nearby dam and the music at the dining are a few things that we will never forget about the place.

Your personal touch was what made our stay beautiful. Thank you again for everything and we look forward to spending much more time very soonsmilies/smiley.gif

First of all I would appreciate Vijay for keep the place close to nature as much as possible. Good job!
People are very friendly and the lake side experience is amazing (especially the early mornings and nights). Stroll to near by villages is a good option. Would love to visit again soon.

rappa by night
written by Rahul Huidrom, January 06, 2011
Finally got the time to pen down a few words for the host Vijay and the hospitality he has offered. Rappa is pleasing to the eye, with the view of the island and the surroundings. The food is excellent and the ambiance could not have been better considering where Rappa is located. The booze, the guitar and the chicken kebabs, basically the works which one needs for a night out and yeah the bonfire to add to the excellent night sky...but the best was yet to come, kayaking at 0100 hrs midnight with the reflection of the moonlight on the still yet mysterious backwater, that was one truly amazing experience. Vijay, kudos to u for the really nice and adventurous time u showed us. "I'll be back" as the terminator would put it.

FANTABULOUS !!
written by Rajat, January 17, 2011
This is my first trip to Rappa. We decided for a bike ride. Guys not a good idea for a bike trip bcoz at times road is miserable.
The folks out there Vijay,Sibi,Rizwan and ofcourse the three dogs are awesomeeeee ... just after we reached and settled down a bit we had a nice homely buffet lunch... the food is good, healthy, fresh and non spicy...We took a cottage right in front of the lake and cottage is spacious for a group of 5..
Then the best part kayaking and swimming in the lake... You can visit the island too..
Evening we spent time over some hot tea/coffee, burma bridge,earthquake..the tree house is also a must to spent some time or actually you can have it for a night.. but for 5 of us we felt its a lill cozy.(nice for a couple in the tree house tentsmilies/kiss.gif).
Now it's time for campfire n nice chicken/fish n veg pakora n some dance n spirit smilies/smiley.gif
Dinner is served at around 9:30 n again it's yummy ... Now it depends on you when you want to sleep.. We enjoyed sitting in front of our cottage, having our hookah with lakeview..
In the morning we did a little more of kayaking and again nice breakfast.Vijay and sibi showed us some nice photographs. btw Vijay shared some of his experience and photographs, it seems he's a guy who is close to nature and has travelled a lot (India and abroad)..
So we reached our parting time now with a great experience.
Things which I felt different about this place is Great friendly host, lots of activities to do,nice kayaking in the lake, close to nature, value for money,
not so far from Bangalore, nice food, good location of the cottages, the tree house... In one word it's "FANTABULOUS"... I will definitely be back soon and not hesitant to reccomend someone..

A perfect weekend outing! :)
written by Sruthi, January 18, 2011
I was searching online for weekend outings, and boy, am I glad I chanced upon the Rappa! We had an absolutely lovely time...thanks to Vijay, Sibi, Rizwan and all others.
The drive was an experience in itself, the roads were beautiful and we had a leisurely drive.
The cottages are neat and very basic...don't expect anything spectacular. But the simplicity just adds to the beauty of the place. The dogs Shunti, Milo and Dudda are wonderful and the most friendly dogs in the world! The food is yummy...simple homely, perfectly matched to the surroundings.
We had a lazy lunch and relaxed for a while. We then took a ride in the coracle to the island. Spent some time there. Then in the evening, we walked down to the waterfront for the sunset and it was BEAUTIFUL. Took a lot of photographs. And then there was the campfire, with yummy fish kababs and veg bajjis. After this came the highlight of the trip - kayaking in the moonlight. It was an out-of-this-world experience. It feels serene...with the still water, slight breeze, the silence and the moon. We came back, had dinner and slept. The next morning we woke up before sunrise and again went kayaking. It was a whole different experience...kayaking under the rising sun. We had breakfast, spent some time on the rope course and then started back.
Wish we could have spent some more time, but we'll be back very soon. Not too far from Bangalore, amazing location, good food - its the perfect weekend outing. Full on paisa vasool! smilies/smiley.gif

Pleasent time with nature / rappa
written by Anand, April 18, 2011
“The Rappa” is a very nice place. I had been there on 16th Apr with a gang of friends and had a very good time. Be it with friends, or family, you have the utmost privacy and comfort. If you are a kind of person who don’t expect artificial essence and prefer simplicity, then it’s a perfect weekend destination.

Located about 210 km from Bangalore, the roads are good and well connected and to the place. Take a deviation from Reliance petrol bunk, and the road leads to Rappa. It is an inhabited place, calm and peaceful.
Vijay, and his team; Sibi, Rizwan and others were very kind to us and there is absolute no restriction for anything. His pet dogs Dadda, Shunti, Milo, are very friendly and they quickly get adjusted.

Food was excellent. Though we could enjoy much with the bonfire due to thunder storm, we spent some quiet good time in water. Overall it was a very peaceful trip!

If you like being close to nature - Get your butt to Rappa
Rappa is a great place amid nature and on edge of Gorur Reservoir. We kayaked, sat in front of a bonfire, lazed around, sat at the back of a bucking jeep, even saw a turkey fight smilies/smiley.gif...not one moment passed that we did not think was fun...Vijay et al go an extra length to keep the guests happy and occupied. All in all a great experience. Would love to come back to the place again...cheers

Rappa - A place you feel at home
written by azaam, June 07, 2011
no rules no restrictions.... enjoy and let others enjoy... thats what the hosts make you feel.... the dogs will treat you like you know them for ages everywhere you go, but still they know somehow that they should not enter your sleeping room... food is good (spicy) games for adventurous people are decent..... the host vijay mixes up with you very well... and then there is kayaking which is easy and fun to ride.. on the flip side... bathrooms don't have hangers and mirrors smilies/wink.gif though i think if asked vijay will definitely fix it fast.. overall definitely recommended...

Simply Awesome!!
written by Mayank Kinger, June 27, 2011
Rappa is simply awesome. If you are planning for a relaxing and fun weekend along with a nice drive (route is awesome with nice roads and less traffic), Rappa is the place for you. Specially the friendly and very well behaved dogs...Shunty is the loveliest dog I have ever met. He was with us for almost 24 hrs. Slept in front of our cottage and was the first one to wish us good morning. If you will go at the time June the water level is little low which makes the small valley an outstanding track for zooming in your car. Just loved it.

Food was really awesome just like home and we had a great time in Rappa. Thanks Sibby and Vijay for making this trip so memorable. We are definitely going to be back soon.

God bless you guys.

Mayank,

We loved it and would recommend for our friends and relatives
written by jyothi, August 17, 2011
We were 4 girls (all friends) who started out trip on Saturday early, morning from Bangalore to Mysore and on Sunday from Mysore to Hassan. We travelled in the passenger train from Mysore at 7.30 AM and reached Hassan at 10.30 AM and we had already booked an Auto from Hassan to "Rappa" (Siby the manager of Rappa had arranged this for us). We reached Rappa by 11.45 AM (1 hr journey from Hassan). The auto driver Mr. Shivanna was a very friendly person)who helped us to board the luggage and comfortable reach Rappa.
Rappa ia a beautiful place filled with people who are ready to help u at any time. We were little tensed initially as we were only a group of 4 girls. But Mr Siby was so kind and made us very comfortable and since the crowd was too much with a lot of families, we decided to stay in the tent , though we booked a cottage. Since, we adjusted in the tent, we got extra Time to stay the next day and a complimentary lunch too.

The food was good.

We have few activities there. The first one we played there is rope climbing and a swing. The swing is a huge one tied to a huge tree. Them we have the back water of Hemavathi river (Gorur Dam) down the cottages. Which has water of approx 100 - 150 ft in depth)They give us life jackets and a boat (kayoak). we row that ourselves and can also dive in the water in between the lake and float with the life jackets.

We four girls dont know swimming and still we dived in water and floated there was 2 hrs and there is no time restrictions for any activity. Its completely safe as we have life guards all around us all the time. Life guards are very helpful people. My friend was feeling very tired and could not float any longer and the life guards helped us a lot to get back to the bank and did not charge a pie extra.

Its a beautiful place to go and relax and have a very good experience of floating too.
In the night we have campfire, snacks and music.

At last, we had a jeep ride.. in this ride they tied us on the top of the jeep and then rode the jeep in the uneven land which was very thrilling.

One should definitely experience this adventure.

From Rappa, we again caught the auto and came back to Hassan and from there back by bus to Bangalore.

Over all a memorable experience. We all loved it.

Photos, I have not downloaded yet. Will upload it soon.

Things to carry there:
1. Extra bed sheet to cover your self, if you want it to be really warm.
2. Sunscreen lotions should be applied before getting into water during the day
3. Snacks and drinks if needed , as we do not get anything for about 25 kms from that place.
Room Tip: The tents on floor are good for boys, cottages are good for family with Kids. Tent on the tree is good for girls.

Rappa triology !!
written by Varun Sharma, September 06, 2011
Absolute awesomeness... Thats all I can say about this place. I have been to this place thrice and never have I felt bored . The place is a must visit.... and a total stress buster. The guys who manage this place are very friendly and would cater to all your needs.. Needs here I mean is basic needs and not a lavish one. This place is admist nature and one must expect and respect that. You cannot expect a A/c bedroom in between greenary ... I booked a cottage this time and spent most of my time sitting outside playing with the friendly dogs Rappa has. To see it, to know it , one must visit it. Not too far from Bangy...

I have always preferred starting from Bangalore at midnight so I can take a coffee break at Belur cross and catch the sunrise on the bridge after Shattihalli village.. An amazing view I must say and watching the sunrise from there standing above the flowing water is totally out of this world. The morning cold and light rains makes the magic and trust me you will find more fun once you visit Rappa.

Its more like camping so don't expect a 3 or a 5 star treatment. Go to Rappa.... stand admist the grass.. stare at the backwaters of Shattihalli dam and unwind yourself. Play around with the dogs.. sitting in the dining area and enjoy the music, walk near the shores of water, a few games to play and do not forget to ask Vijy to take you on a drive in his jeep.. :-).

Food is tasty and simple.... they make some nice authentic cuisines which brings in a different taste... It sure did make me lick my fingers and I wished I had a bigger tummy smilies/wink.gif smilies/tongue.gif

I have taken two friends groups of mine and all want to get back to this place asap. Everyone has left Rappa with good memories.. A few more friend's group to come and am sure they will have the same feelings for this place

I shall be back to Rappa soon for sure....

FREEDOM
written by Rajagopal, October 24, 2011
THE RAPPA ---A place if you really wanna let loose urself and realize wat freedom is ,to start with Vijay and Sibi (two are insanely amazing people who know how to keep life simple and happy) vijay opens up with people like a shaken bottle of beer but sibi is a tough one to open ,six guards Dadda, Milo, Titsy, Silly, Shunti... Tingo are 24/7 to entertain you .....about Rappa its not a place for planned vacation it a place which will make you realize wat shit are missing in life imp (ther are no Do`s and Dont`s as long as ur not a pain. and people commenting on food please they waste huge amount of it everyday but never say no when u want to have food and itz provided to you fresh ,we travelled 780 kms which was hectic but the min we stepped in trust me we dint knw were to start our fun with ,never miss the jeep ride with vijay ,an amazing trip gives u the thrill and pleasure of findin a burnout location for urself i am droping this comment after a month and still my memories are fresh ,
MY ADVISE if u really wanna be ther these are the TIPS:
1 Dont expect or assume just live the moment .
2 Dont expect a five star treatment cuz this place is not comercialized for you to treated like customers its run for their satisfaction which they share ,
3 try to live in the tree house
4 do not sleep at night prefer day to sleep anywher apart from the tents cuz they get hot ..

I am done waiting to hit back soon ,,this place will never get bored .....smilies/wink.gifsmilies/wink.gifsmilies/wink.gifsmilies/wink.gifsmilies/wink.gifsmilies/wink.gifsmilies/wink.gifsmilies/smiley.gifsmilies/smiley.gifsmilies/wink.gifsmilies/wink.gifsmilies/wink.gifsmilies/wink.gifsmilies/wink.gif

The Rappa......Place to freak out
written by Ratheesh R, November 21, 2011
The Rappa…a Heavenly place to let go yourself….the place is serene..Surrounded by the backwaters of Shattihalli dam …the hosts (Vijay and Sibi, along with their boys) are wonderful who will make sure that you feel homely…..Both Vijay and Sibi are very frank and straight forward.. The place was built by Vijay for himself but is now sharing it at nominal charge… You will definitely get all the basic necessities here….I have visited the place twice and both the times it was just out of the world kinds….  I thoroughly enjoyed myself to the max extent possible…. The only thing you need to keep in mind is that you are not supposed to venture out of the sight of the hosts while kayaking (For safety reasons)….The only rule is that you treat the place like your home…Keep it neat and tidy….Apart from the people you have the wonderful company of Milo, Dadda, Silly, Tutsi, Shunti and Tingo.…One better than the other…They will accompany you wherever you go and also make sure u pay attention to them and pet them and play with them While you are kayaking…they will swim alongside…They would sleep outside your tents or cottages…..Once you open the door in the morning….they will be the first ones to wish you good morning by jumping all over you and Shunti if allowed will also jump on the bed...The food that is served is just amazing…Limited varieties but mouthwatering dishes..…it definitely kindles your taste buds…I will definitely go there many more times in the future….Thanks so much for having such a place Vijay..

Vijay the owner.. so down to earth n is a best pal u can get… If you are lucky like me… May be you can have a drink with him.
Sibi…. Hmmm what to say about him… one of the calmest and sharpest kind hearted person… smilies/smiley.gif Will make sure the basic necessities are met. smilies/smiley.gif
The dining place is a place to observe.. different tables and chairs all out of wood.. it is unique as again u will have huge wheels and artistically designed chairs to be sat in different postures.. smilies/smiley.gif
The bright day, cold and calm water, an island full of trees where u can rest on the bank the whole day with friends or even alone.
You can hear the birds chirp… Also spot some rare and beautiful birds.. smilies/smiley.gif
No one to bother you or disturb you, best of all is u can also have food and camp fire on the island.(This is only for special people like us smilies/smiley.gifsmilies/smiley.gifsmilies/smiley.gif
Kayaking is the best part, if u r a first timer then u will not take more than 2 min to learn and u will not get out of it for at-least 2 hours.
Oh.. While u kayak you will have your buddy’s Milo, Dadda, Silly, Tutsi, Shunti and Tingo.… swim along.. smilies/smiley.gifsmilies/smiley.gifsmilies/smiley.gif
They will be around you till the last minute of your stay and entertain you, guess what’s their demand for the same… love n pet them in return. Such friendly one’s….
The rooms are so cozy and natural, very close to nature no extra show or luxury but plain requirement to make you feel close to the nature(Repetitive). Food is the best you can ask for, delicious and variety good enough to relish. And yes do not forget to ask for coffee, which is prepared specially here so yummeee… smilies/smiley.gifsmilies/smiley.gifsmilies/smiley.gif
The best place recommended for people who wanted to be close to the nature with the hospitality… smilies/smiley.gifsmilies/smiley.gifsmilies/smiley.gif

Rappa A Heaven on earth.
written by B. Boni, December 09, 2011
Had an urge to explore nature and after reading reviews on various resorts, I was tempted to select Rappa, at Hassan ,between Bangalore and Mangalore,as my ideal destination. Initially,I was shocked on seeing the beautiful surrounding countryside and was further jolted, on seeing ,beautiful Rappa. Honestly, let me shamelessly mention, that, this was the best encounter with nature, I ever had in my life. A” full paisa wasul”. I will, always cherish the wonderful experience I had there and even as I write these few words, I have a further urge of leaving this letter unfinished and rush to Rappa , to continue experiencing the bliss I discovered there.
Scenic beauty- awe inspiring. The location in which Rappa is situated, makes me admire the Almighty’s creation. I stayed there on 4th and 5th instant. What a pleasure it was to meet Mr. Vijay and Mr. Sibert. Both went out of their ways,in making my stay a memorable one. More than this ,I was welcomed by a brigade of pets – Milo the Innocent American Retriever, Tootsie the British retriever, Dadha and Silly Irish setters , shunti (ginger) the American spitz and last, but not the least, Tingo the mischievous little Dashound. I was also happy to see turkeys , geese , ducks ,guinea fouls, pigeons etc. they made my day. The weather was favoring me, to go kayaking . Oh! What an experience…… What an experience…… I remembered Lord Alfred Tennyson’s words “ Someone had blundered ; There’s not to make reply , There’s not to reason why , there’s but to do and die,”
The room was clean and tidy and so was the other facilities there including running hot water . Every step I was reminded ,that ,this was not my home or, a five star hotel, having modern facilities, but an highway to nature.
Food was plentiful and I must say ,plates and glasses were clean and tidy. Both Vijay and Sibi supervised ,every aspect, down to the finest detail of even informing me, on phone, about the petty items that ,I had left behind. The boys assisting them ,too, were also very honest and were always eager, to help me in every way possible. I was accompanied by all the pets, who also swam alongside my kayak to the beautiful island on the other side of Rappa and back . One must experience this bliss and let me tell you Vijay was over zealous in also driving me this time, to the island and back ,on his Trax ( town and country wagon). This too, I will never forget. Sibert in his own sweet way kept advising me to don my life jacket before I went kayaking. This showed his individual concern, towards visitors. He made sure that, I was fed well and made my stay there a heaven on earth-Rappa – I’ll be back soon .
Vijay and Sibert -a touch of advice to you both – Keep doing what you do best, and continue doing it better, as eachday passes by.
Sadly, the next day, it was time for me to pack up, when all of a sudden, I was visited by all our canine friends and I could see the sadness in their eyes, when it came to my departing. How I wish that I had booked my stay further. My eyes too, were flooded with tears as I departed remembering, Robert Louis Stevenson in -The Vagabond'
“ Bed in the bush with stars to see, bread I dip in the river. There’s the life for a man like me, there’s the life forever.”
Through the bottom of my heart ,I strongly recommend this abode, if one is looking for happiness, peace and tranquility along with their families. Having come all the way from Mumbai (Bombay), my journey was complete and my goal attained. I wish everyone at Rappa ,the very best and advise them ,to be patient with the visitors ,visiting Rappa and also, not forgetting to be patient and loving to the animals . As they say “ You don’t know what you got till u lose it”.

Bye.

Got bitten by the Bad Goose
written by Chith & Swamy, Thonts & Sush, SwaChi & Dhruthi, January 16, 2012
Like the earlier remark by Mr. Checker, I too thought of writing a "negative" title because, how in the world can some place go without any any complaints? I mean, something should be bad, we humans expect it that way and "unfortunately" the only only thing that was bad for me & my bro Thonts was we both were chased and bitten by the "Big Bad Goose". & Thank God for the 3/4th jeans i was wearing!!

Now to the ALmost all positives - Cant beat the slurpy, wetty welcome that the lovely canines gave, not to forget the scratches they left on our car in their excitement to welcome us!! Ofcourse, even Vijay & Sibi with their decent staff were there to welcome us but that really took a back seat...!!

FOOOOOOD - Just how we wanted, no high fi star hotel's jumbled up names, just "FOOOD"...that filled our stomachs & made our hearts happy.

COOKING - we had 2 little kids for whom we needed to make food from the powders we carried - we were welcome to COOK what we wanted!! & all that was needed to make the mixture was provided to us :-)

The "ROOM" - no A/c, no shower, no health faucet (jet spray) - hey those high fi who need these need not come here - go live in some 7 stars in the heart of the maddening/screaming city

THE COTTAGE - spacious, easy for even 5 people, an attached bath/toilet with hot water
a lovely semi circular balcony to face the vast openness of the land/river & the green island.

KAYAKING:
Appreciate the painstaking effort that Sibi (& Vijay) take to ensure that we try it atleast once (for those who have the phobia) - its so easy to learn that you then dont want to get out of it at all. Well, nobody asks you to wind up anyways!!
We even took our little angels (aged 2.3 & 1.10), seated them in front of us & rowed toward the middle - LIFE JACKETS - COMPULSORY, do whatever you want, be safe :-)

THE BONFIRE, the Booze & the Boney Ms & ABBAs & all else:
What a combination - cant be better

What holds you back from not wanting to leave this LOVING PLACE is the cutie, huggable canines -
1. Mylo-the big, Lazy follower of Sibi,
2. Tingo - the ardent lover of Vijay, listens "only" to him
3. Tootsie who is all over you, follows you everywhere, even swims with you (i mean, no private moment with your hubby !!!)
4. Shunti - here & there, every where
5. Silly - also quietly follows you around, likes to be coochicooed...

The TURKEYS - black & white
they should be called the Emperors actually

The big bad goose is always waiting to bite, so we tread carefully after being the victims

And as Mothers, all Sushma & I could say was, our little angels ate all their meals while in "The Rappa" with no fuss at all!!! What else can we ask for - right??

Hey Vijay, Sibi, we will never forget the pleading "dont go"s & the sad look in your eyes when we were departing- much as we all wanted to stay back, we couldn't but we will come back for all the love & trust you gave us, even though we started off as strangers initially!!

Thank you is such a small tiny word - but means the world at the moment.

Wonderful place.. wonderful hospitality.... loveable friends to welcome.....
written by Sowmya, February 23, 2012
I had, infact we had not expected this place to be so nice and good. I always felt resorts are boring... Sorry to call it resort... as hosts there say its a home... the kind of experience you get when you are there will make you feel homely... may it be kayaking, or swimming or even just chit-chatting. There are no restrictions, no time limits... We could do what we want to...

We started from Bangalore around 6:30 so that we can have our breakfast on the way... with all enthu of driving in Bangalore - Mangalore Highway we reached CRPatna. From there we tought of using Google Maps which asked us to take right instead of left and increased our journey time by 30-45 mins... (Pls dont follow google map)... smilies/smiley.gif smilies/smiley.gif

The road from where we took left from highway is not that good... 16kms stretch is really bad...

But once u reach Rappa, all your tiredness will go off... Along with hosts Vijay and Sibi, you will have 5 dogs, 2 turkeys, 2 swans and lots of piegeons to welcome you... smilies/smiley.gif smilies/smiley.gif
You would love those dogs (all different breed) if you are animal lovers.. they are cute and friendly... Shunti... Milo.. Tuthsi... Tingo... Silly...

Rappa is the best place that you can go and spend time on weekends... along with clam and cool place around and lots of activities to do, even food is good... Do visit this place... u will agree with me.... All thanks to Vijay and Sibi for showing wonderful hospitality and made us feel we should come again...

People who want luxurious stay and 7* hotel treatement, pls dont go here....

Hey buddy,
i have already posted few things in my review, that was a brief of what had happend, take a look at it and let me know if you need more info on it. it was an humiliating experience for me, i had friends come down from U.S and i took them to this resort thinking it to be a very good one after going through the website. The moment we stepped into the resort, their itself we found everything so dirty, so unhygienic, so pathetic. They should get this resort removed.

AWESOME !
written by Palaksha, July 12, 2012

Hi Sibert/Vijay,

First of all – Thanks for the wonderful time !!

I see a lot of unnecessary reviews here, I can understand it would be because of the frustration ! - doesn't mean u should take it out now smilies/wink.gif

I have a big bloody friends gang, 20 of us went to RAPPA last weekend for a very important purpose - Pre-wedding shoot !

When I called Sibert for booking, it was a different experience. He more wanted to talk to me and know me and then go ahead for the booking.

The check-in time is around 10AM but we all drove down there in 5 cars overnight so reached there early (Around 7 AM). Hot Coffee was waiting for us !

Breakfast was served (though not the best, but was hygienic and healthy)
After which we all went out for Kayaking n swimming in the water and started clicking pics ! - Day went off well smilies/smiley.gif

Not to forget the wonderful dogs - Shunti, Limo, Thumbe, Toothse, Mylo - AMAZING ! They followed us, played with us, Ate with us and Slept with us all the while smilies/smiley.gif

Lunch was good - Chicken curry, Fish Curry and Pulav (For veggies) !

We all took some rest in the afternoon and started the evening session with some beer that we had taken ! - It went on till 3 AM and no one stopped us smilies/smiley.gif + MUSIC that Vijay played with the BIG ASS speakers of his smilies/smiley.gif

CAMPFIRE went on till the time we were awake !

Second day - Started with Hot Coffee and Tea after which we had breakfast and went for swimming again ! Kayaking again and Clicking pictures again !

Lunch – Pork dry, Chicken curry and Fish curry + Rice etc etc !

We were supposed to check out at 4 PM but ended up staying there till 9 PM ! We played music, danced, drank and left with Satisfaction of having a Wonderful time off !!

Things to remember:
1.It is 30 kms from Hassan – We cannot expect 5 star experience there ! (Sibert – Makes it clear when anyone calls for booking)
2.Accommodation is of 2 kinds – Cottages and Tents ! – All have clean Beds, Bed sheets ! (Only constraint – Cottages have toilet and the Tents don’t smilies/tongue.gif)
3.Food won’t be of a 5 star hotel – Be assured, it will be Tasty and Hygienic !
4.U have to be ready to spend the night without your cell phones as it has very limited access for Power ! All our 4 SLR’s were charged there smilies/wink.gif
5.Be ready for loads of noise ! by the 5 dogs + Wild Goose + Ducks ! (They are nice thou if you get used to em)

Finally – It’s a Good place if you go with Friends ! Family – not advisable smilies/wink.gif (If u know what I mean) !!
